Lead – Marketing — SEO, Content & PPC

This is a senior individual contributor role with light people management — you’ll own the strategy and execution of our organic search, content, and paid acquisition programs, and mentor the junior executive working alongside you. We’re looking for a T-shaped operator who can move between an SEO technical audit, a content strategy doc, and a Google Ads bidding review in the same day, and make each of them sharper than the last.
You won’t get a playbook handed to you. You’ll build it. What you will get is clear targets, budget ownership, and the autonomy to make the calls.
What You’ll Do
Strategy & Planning
- Set quarterly channel strategy and OKRs for SEO, content, and paid media
- Own the integrated marketing calendar and ensure the three channels compound rather than compete
- Manage monthly budgets across paid channels with a clear thesis on CAC, ROAS, and payback
- Build and maintain the attribution and reporting framework the team runs on
SEO
- Lead technical SEO audits and work with engineering to prioritize fixes
- Drive topical authority strategy — cluster planning, internal linking architecture, content pruning
- Own off-page strategy: digital PR, guest contributions, partnership links
- Be accountable for organic traffic, rankings for money keywords, and organic-sourced pipeline
Content
- Define content strategy tied to the buyer journey — top, middle, and bottom of funnel
- Commission, edit, and publish high-quality long-form content (pillar pages, research reports, case studies)
- Manage freelance writers, editors, and designers
- Build distribution muscle — this isn't "publish and pray." Own syndication, repurposing, and newsletter growth
PPC & Paid Media
- Own end-to-end campaign management across Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn (and test new channels as relevant)
- Run a disciplined testing calendar — creative, audience, landing page, bidding strategy
- Partner with the website/design team on conversion rate optimization for landing pages
- Forecast spend and pipeline impact; defend the numbers in leadership reviews
People
- Manage, coach, and grow the Junior Marketing Executive
- Give real feedback. Build their career, not just their task list.
What You Bring
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in B2B or B2C digital marketing, with meaningful time spent in all three of SEO, content, and PPC — not just one
- A track record you can talk through with numbers: organic growth you drove, content that ranked, paid campaigns where you moved CAC or ROAS in the right direction
- Deep proficiency with the modern marketing stack: Ahrefs or SEMrush, GA4, GSC, Google Tag Manager, Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, and at least one CMS
- Strong analytical instincts — comfortable in spreadsheets, dashboards, and basic SQL is a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication; you can write a brief, a strategy memo, and a board-ready update
- Experience managing freelancers, agencies, or a direct report
- Strong opinions, loosely held. You'll disagree with me sometimes, and that's the job.
Nice to Have
- Experience with marketing automation (HubSpot, Marketo, Customer.io)
- Familiarity with a BI tool (Looker, Metabase, Tableau)
- Exposure to lifecycle and email marketing
- Experience launching in a new market or category
- Agency background in addition to in-house (or vice versa)
